Biography

Andrew Walaszek is a contemporary artist working from Northwest Arkansas. Born in Washington, D.C. in 1954, his early life included formative years spent traveling across Europe, which quietly shaped his perspective. Experiences in cities like Warsaw, Glasgow, Belgrade, and Minsk offered an early and valuable lens for his developing artistic sensibility.Returning to the U.S. in 1977, Walaszek settled in Chicago, where he balanced a career in software development with his personal commitment to art. In 2014, he made the decision to dedicate himself full-time to painting, establishing his studio at Lake Avalon in Bella Vista, Arkansas.Walaszek's artwork often explores a blend of figurative, abstract, and expressive forms. His inspiration is drawn from a range of sources, including observations of historical and current events, personal imagination, the influence of technology, and the natural beauty of the Ozark region. Through his work, he aims to translate experiences and emotions onto the canvas, offering viewers a glimpse into his unique artistic interpretations.
